JAMMU, Mar 28: After the intervention of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, the All J&K Transport Welfare Association has suspended its ‘Chakka Jam’ call after the administration has assured the agitating transporters of resolving their genuine grievances.

The All J&K Transport Welfare Association had called for a complete ‘Chaka Jam’ on Thursday in protest against plying of e-buses on different routes of Jammu, where the private buses and minibuses have already been plying.

President All J&K Transport Welfare Association, Vijay Chib said that the government did not keep its promise and ditched the transporters.

The office bearers of All J&K Transport Welfare Association were today assured by the J&K administration that their genuine concerns would be taken care of.

The meeting of the office bearers of All J&K Transport Welfare Association and the officers of Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) will be held today at 11 AM to sort out the issue and find out an amicable solution.

Meanwhile, the e-bus services on routes of RS Pura and Akhnoor have been temporarily suspended.

The Transport Welfare Association office bearers said that around three months back, the government had assured them to take care of their business interests.

But now the e-buses have been plying on the same routes where the private buses were already plying, they said. The business of private buses has drastically declined, they said.
