Jammu, Mar 31: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is bound to face setbacks in all upcoming polls in J&K as the Modi government has been “callously neglecting” the significant issues being confronted by different sections of society.
“The BJP government, which promised two crore jobs annually, could neither provide existing jobs nor create new ones. The Prime Minister gives guarantees in elections. In reality, his guarantee is the guarantee of unemployment," Bhalla said while addressing public meetings at various places in Jammu East, West and North constituencies.
Bhalla alleged that there was neither any vision nor any plan to create new jobs during the last ten years of the BJP government. “The biggest misfortune was that this government did not say a single word on unemployment. It has failed to curb inflation and unemployment and has disappointed every section of society,” he said.
He said despite a number of rounds of talks, discussions and promises, the disgruntled daily wagers are struggling with their demands and protesting but the government is nonchalant as if it has nothing to do with this section comprising thousands of individuals and their families.
The JKPCC leader termed the situation as the government’s “cruel joke” with the hapless worker community. “Lakhs of youths are wasting their youthful days in a dilemma as the government has no concrete policy to ensure safe career to this segment,” he said, adding that the future of youth is bleak in Jammu and Kashmir due to “hollow and anti-youth” policies of the present government.
He said the government has failed to regularize those serving on academic arrangements in schools and higher education departments for the last more than 15 to 20 years, which is “unjustified” and against the norms of natural justice.
The Congress leader said the BJP by downgrading J&K and dividing it into two Union Territories has caused disrespect to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “The people in the country in general and J&K in particular are feeling demoralized and dismayed given the betrayals and deceitful policies of BJP,” he claimed.
Bhalla asserted, “Congress will continue to fight for safeguarding just rights of the people and ensure deliverance of justice. The party Congress shall continue to work vigorously to bring back their dignity and honour, which have been snatched aiming to complete BJP's political agenda.”
He called on the LG government to take cognizance of the people's issues for their resolution at the earliest. “The ten years of BJP rule has caused a loss of Rs 28 lakh crore to the country,” Bhalla claimed.
