GOC CIF Delta chairs joint security review meeting in Chenab region

Srinagar, Mar 29: A high-level Security Review Meeting was held under General Officer Commanding (GOC) Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and was aimed to discuss the prevailing situation in the Chenab region.
The Army Spokesman said that a security review meeting chaired by GOC Counter Insurgency Force(Delta) in Doda and attended by representatives of agencies and senior police officials of Districts of Ramban and Kishtwar was held to review the prevailing internal security situation.
“The meeting, held against the backdrop of evolving security dynamics in the region, delved into a comprehensive assessment of the prevailing internal security situation,” he said.
A senior Army officer said that the primary focus on addressing emerging challenges and fortifying existing security apparatuses, the discussions were marked by a proactive exchange of insights and strategies.
“Key agenda items included a thorough review of recent security incidents, analysis of intelligence inputs, and strategic planning for preemptive measures. Additionally, attention was directed towards bolstering community engagement initiatives to foster a conducive environment for intelligence gathering and proactive countermeasures,” he added.
Officer further said during the meeting importance was laid on vigilance and proactive measures in safeguarding the interests of the populace. The participants resolved to intensify efforts towards neutralizing threats posed by anti-social elements and hostile forces,” the officer said.
Raised on 05 Sep 1994, the Delta Force has been instrumental in eliminating terrorism from the Chenab Valley and ushering an era of peace in the region.
Till date, the Force has been conferred with 1439 Gallantry Awards including One Ashok Chakra, Five Kirti Chakras and Forty Six Shaurya Chakras.
