All girls Gulmarg trekking expedition flagged off from TRC Sgr

 The Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir in collaboration with Hussaini Sports Club on Thursday organised an all-girls one-day trekking expedition to Gulmarg.

In the early morning hours, around 32 girl enthusiasts and Adventure lovers belonging to various Districts were flagged off by Deputy Director, tourism publicity/ recreation Ideel Saleem from TRC Srinagar towards the world-famous and picturesque all-weather destination of Gulmarg.

At Gulmarg, the girls trekked from Gondola Base Station up to Kongdori and finished back at the beautiful Gulmarg Golf Course.  The girl participants had a great time during the expedition and found a new sense of confidence in stepping out of the comfort zone and venturing into an adventurous yet healthy activity.

Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority,  Inam ul Haq and Assistant Director Tourism, Gulmarg Dr Javed-ur- Rehman later distributed certificates among the participating girls.

The event is part of the overall tourism promotional campaign started by the Tourism Department following an easing of COVID19 restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir and to communicate a message to the tourists, adventure lovers and travellers that all tourism destinations are open in J&K with COVID19 SoPs in place.

The Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir during the last one month has organized several trekking, mountain biking events including at Doodpathri, Dachigam, Pahalgam and Gulmarg. A shikara race in Dal Lake was also organized on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
