Hurriyat (G) to boycott Pak High Commissioner’s Eid Milan

Hurriyat Conference led by octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday decided to boycott the Eid Milan function of the Pakistan High Commission at New Delhi to protest against not including ‘Kashmir’ in the joint statement issued in Ufa, Russia recently.

“Hurriyat conference has decided not to attend the Eid Milan at Pak High Commission New Delhi,” a Hurriyat (G) statement said adding “this is in protest against not mentioning ‘Kashmir’ in Ufa Russia meeting between PMs of India and Pakistan.”

Pak High Commission has invited Kashmiri separatist leaders to its mission on July 21 to celebrate Eid Milan at the end of holy month of Ramzan.

Sources said that it is for the first time when any separatist party or forum has out rightly rejected the invitation of Pakistan in protest for not mentioning ‘Kashmir’ at any bilateral meeting with India.

“Kashmiris and Kashmir dispute cannot be taken for granted,” Hurriyat statement said.
