Resident of Tulial valley protests against lack of electricity

Protests erupted in Neeru are of Tulail Valley near Line of Control on Monday as hundreds of people face electricity shortage from last three months.

People from many villages like Sheikhpora, Budugam, Buduab, Neeru, and Purana Tulail assembled at Neeru and blocked Tulail-Gurez road demanding proper electricity in the area.

Ghulam Hassan Khan, a resident of Baduab Neeru, tod Rising Kashmir over phone that the area is without electricity from last three months and authorities are doing nothing to solve the problem besides receiving dozens of representation from the aggrieved villagers.

“The generator turned dysfunctional early in January and was not repaired till date, though authorities were informed about it,” Khan said

Villagers accused Thesil administration of neglecting the people residing in far-flung areas of Gurez.

“Officials in PDD and SDM office hardly pay any heed to our pleas as we are residing at the end of   Tulail near the border,” Khan said.

The residents appealed Chief Engineer PDD to intervene so that aggrieved villagers can get electricity.
